If some bad actor gets ahold of your check, they have all the info they need (your routing number & your account number) to attempt a fraudulent ACH withdrawal. Happened to an elderly relative. Had to close down checking account, stop all normal debits (e.g., pepco, condo fees), and set up a new one. Big pita.[/quote]
