Says he applied for a green card, doesn't mean he was anywhere near close to getting it. Friend of my son's, guy is in his mid-20s, he's dating a Peruvian girl. She's been here for years, no idea what her status is (she's not a student) and she keeps putting off the green card application because if you leave the country you have to wait 5 years and she likes not travel--not just home but to Europe.
