Please do not bash. I was looking up CDS today because saw posts saying all T10 schools are 40%+ Asian. While it's probably true for Hopkins, I found out that Chicago takes 20% Asian. Why does Chicago have a much lower percentage of Asian students than Hopkins? Anyone know why? Does that mean Asian applicants have an advantage at Hopkins compared to Chicago? TIA
OP, you can look up the demographics for each school here, under “enrollment”. https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?q=University+of+Chicago&s=all&id=144050#enrolmt Keep in mind that “international” is not counted (and is primarily Asian at both schools). The multi-race and, especially, unreported categories also skew Asian. There are more Asians at JHU but the difference is not as large as you think. The difference can be attributed to more pre-med at Hopkins, a greater percentage of students receiving financial aid at Hopkins, and Chicago taking about 80% of its class in their numerous ED rounds (and their related love for private school kids). The “easiest” top 10 -or even top 25 admit - is an ED application to Chicago.
Nope, not even close. It's Cornell for ED. WashU ED and Michigan EA/ED are also significantly easier. After seeing data from different private schools, UChicago will not take anyone with a low GPA and a test score under 1500. Cornell, WashU, Michigan, however, will, and they take these kids often. You see in these schools' ED: 3.6/33 accepted, 3.7 1450 accepted, 3.6 1420 accepted, etc and they werent legacy either. UChicago draws a harsh academic line. Your post reeks of bitterness and jealousy. Seek help
