team predictions?
Fastest relays win
Definitely. Need to be top 3 or better in all relays. Who exactly is eligible for this meet? Pg public? Why don't they attend? No powers obv but surely a few qualifying kids. Or VA? Not invited? Not interested?
Metros used to be the meet that ended the high school season for Maryland publics (MoCo, PG, FredCo) along with a few DC schools that offered swimming (such as Wilson) and the privates in the DC area (including NOVA privates). Eventually, some of the non-MoCo Publics started their own "state" meet that was not recognized by the MPSSAA, mostly because they couldn't compete with the MoCo and Private schools at Metros. In 2011, the MPSSAA adopted swim and dive officially as a state sponsored sport, which essentially forced MoCo publics into the region and state meets. This shifted the February meet calendar; Metros moved earlier in the calendar to accommodate the region and state meets. MoCo dropped its County Championship meet. It also impacted involvement from some of the VA Privates. There was a time that schools like Eleanor Roosevelt from PG County and Paul VI from VA were very competitive at Metros. There was a long stretch where the private schools dominated Metros, and then MoCo Publics have had a nice run recently.
