See the poster above gleefully pointing out “he’s just trolling you!”. Which is cover/not cover for normalizing acceptance of fascism. These folks take comfort in external markers of acceptance by others because they’re aware, on some level, of how awful they are. If you’re a white person and you’ve ever had someone tell a racist joke in a group and look around quickly to see who will laugh or respond, you know what I mean.
