The language transfer option was removed in the past month. It’s a shame that so many people seem to have abused that option, and now kids who legitimately have an interest in a particular language won’t be able to transfer.
“Abused” that option? Why is this worse than using the remaining option of IB/AP transfers?
dp. Many kids didn't enroll in the language for which they transferred.
Then they should fix that problem (enforce enrollment in the transfer target language) rather than stopping the transfers altogether. Very unfair.
Stopping transfers entirely, or offering the student to take the language either remotely from the library, or 1st/2nd period then returning to their base school for the other 7 class periods makes the most sense.
If a parent is willing and able to provide transportation, then that is more cost effective than the school transporting the kid for just one class period. Plus instructional time lost due to transit time. My kid does an Academy class and doesn’t seem to mind this setup but I’d rather she was not losing that instructional time. Also, online is just not the same as in person.
