Since you don't often see into the kitchen at a restaurant, or if you do, they usually do have their hair back, I was thinking of one specific instance. I was at a restaurant and a woman was preparing Caesar salad tableside. She had long hair (past mid-back) and while it was tied in loose ponytails on each side of her head, the ponytails were arranged so that the hair fell in front of her - down her chest - rather than down her back. Since she was bending over to mix the salad, the ends of her ponytails were maybe 4 inches from the top of the bowl. Fortunately it was not MY food so I didn't have to say anything but we did comment to each other that we were glad we hadn't ordered the Caesar, and were surprised management allowed her to wear her hair that way. I am not sure how I would have handled it if it were my food. [/quote]
