Unless someone is coordinating a county-wide backhoe campaign on Monday to clear bus stops and iced-over travel lanes, I can't imagine that enough is going to change by Tuesday to open. Or, they'll decide to open on Tuesday even though the roads are in the same conditions as Monday and just pretend that that makes sense.
They will open because the closure today is performative bullshit.
Yeah and someone read the SACC snow policy and realized they can’t force unscheduled full day coverage.
I wonder if they would have closed tomorrow if they knew in advance that they could not open SACC. I can't understand how they didn't already know that. The county is not going to spend the money to pay the SACC staff all day even if they could make it work logistically. They already took away some of the holidays where they used to stay open.
They (SACC) took away 3 days this year because they were FORCED to work 3 extra full days (21 hours) when the dumb early release dates were sprung on them. 7 early release dates causing the SACC employees to watch kids for those extra hours meant that they would cut 3 full days from their calendar which is only FAIR. I don’t even know why the powers that be made the SACC people watch the kids for those extra hours when they apparently have school staff to watch all the kids who have “childcare hardship.” They have to start watching afternoon SACC kids on early release dates at their early dismissal time, when childcare is already available at the school at the same time already. WHY? Don’t know why there are 2 separate childcare services provided at the exact same time when SACC staff can just start their shift at regular school dismissal time until 6PM. This way they wouldn’t need to cancel 3 days.
