Just prior to 2:00 pm today, we received from the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation Police a report that Beauvoir had received an unverified call containing a specific threat of violence to the Beauvoir campus that law enforcement later discredited. In accordance with our safety protocols, we simultaneously informed law enforcement and initiated a coordinated, Close-wide lockdown procedure. The Metropolitan Police Department, PECF Police, and school security combined to ensure all three schools were fully locked down and proceeded to sweep our entire campus. We are grateful to the students, faculty, and staff for responding swiftly and well to the emergency alerts, and to the PECF and MPD police for their rapid response.
