Those gender roles exist in muslim countries, hindu countries, shinto countries, etc. they are not Christian social constructs, they predate christianity. In modern society where women have birth control, relatively equal pay, relatively equal opportunity, the gender roles are a lot looser but they still exist because of things like pregnancy and physical strength.[/quote]
