On all of those threads you will find the usual haters, most of whom seem to have little to no actual experience with the school, the occasional family with a legitimately poor experience, and many people praising the school. Just as with any number of schools DCUM loves to hate one, ranging from Flint Hill to NCS. [/quote]
We had a terrible experience, but when I comment on posts, I am accused of gaslighting, lying, being a student at a rival, etc, so I won’t go into detail, but we were amongst many who left at the same time for multiple issues. The k-12 we switched to is night and day better across the board. I wish we had gotten out sooner. [/quote]

Sorry to hear that! I am OP. Could you share more about what caused you to leave and when this was? Recently? Could you also share what k-12 you switched to? I assume not in Alexandria as they are so limited? Thank you and sorry for your experience. [/quote]

NP. I think within the past few years there was one particular grade that had a lot of issues and saw a group of families leave.

I went into the admissions process not planning to send DC to SSSAS based on things I've heard from others. Their admissions process won us over and DC has thrived there. You never really know until you're in the situation. [/quote]
I think this may be the case. I do not doubt that there are families that have had bad experiences. No school is going to have only happy families. But it really doesn’t track with our family’s experience at SSSAS. [/quote]
