For a solid two decades, usually 8 years, after having measles, a rare but very real complication is that the kid will develop a fatal degenerative brain disorder. It is slow, horrible and it is 100% fatal. Yes, it's rare (for infants under 15 months about 1 in 600), but, just how, how could anyone risk the absolute worst case scenario for their kid. It's just about the worst way for a kid to die.[/quote]
