Feel you. Our dear mutt went through that phase where just such random things were mauled - she went through about 5 of my kids retainers that my kids left sitting around as well multiple pairs of eyeglasses that were left on nightstands - not the kids here, but mom and dad. She's also good at quickly counter surfing pizza, sticks of butter, meatballs, etc, etc. Knock on wood, but nothing seriously expensive in quite some time - the meatballs were just the other night. I'm sure she enjoyed them.
:D :D :D :D YES, retainers. The current count at our house is 2. But shoes- its gotta be at least 6 pairs. She ate a pie that was cooling on the counter a few weeks ago, a clean sweep of the entire thing, minus some crust at the bottom. Socks- countless. When you catch her, how do you correct? I tend to shriek and then look at her and she's so damned cute so I melt... not sure if I'm doing a good job
Our orthodontist joked that she was going to hang up a photo of our dog in her office thanking her for increasing their bottom line. Yeah, our dog hasn't done too much with shoes - she did like my UGG slippers and got a pair of those and did a number on them. They were still wearable, so I sucked up the chew marks and a piece or two missing. I made a caprese salad for dinner, left for a minute and came back and she selectively scarfed down all the mozz and left the tomatoes and basil! Yeah, try to correct with some form of no and a squirt of bitter apple - that's if we catch her in the act. There are far too many times that we'll show up and there's only a bit of evidence left, like a butter wrapper or piece of crust.
