Nothing. He doesn't want anything. My mom is getting him some clothes (like workout stuff). I don't feel the need to get him gifts just for the sake of buying stuff.
MOTY
MYOB. Not all people are gift people. I never want anything, and I am kind of unhappy when people get me things that I don’t want or need. It feels wasteful to me, and actually causes me to feel bad. I tell everyone I just want to spend time with them. I say, next time you’re in town, let’s grab dinner or whatever! But still people buy me things. And so then I buy them things, because clearly that’s what they want. I am great with the holidays, but I don’t need more stuff. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for people is actually listen to what they want. Maybe the kid doesn’t want anything.
He’s a teen boy not a premenopausal middle aged sad sack.
Teen boys definitely need things, they grow like weeds and need stuff for sports or to develop other interests. If there is any group of humans who actually need stuff, it's the teen boys and girls!! Once you reach middle age, sure, once you realize you're going to die sooner rather than later, it becomes a struggle to use all the stuff up you accumulated!
