My gyn is willing to prescribe HRT but won't order labwork to check my hormone levels - says they vary all the time and it doesn't matter. Would it be worth using Midi just for thorough lab work?
A lot of the menopause doctors who are active online also recommend against labs. In perimenopause your hormones fluctuate wildly so they say they labs are typically not helpful. If you have a doctor willing to prescribe and listen to your symptoms, I would stick with them! I’m jealous. My OB/GYN is a woman in her mid 50s and is listed by the national menopause Society, and she still is really dismissive. She is pro hormone therapy but wants me to wait till I’m fully in menopause which could be another 3 to 4 years. I’m not miserable yet so I’m willing to wait but I am exploring other options if things get worse.
