AP Research and AP Chem for 11th
Those are not electives I feel sorry for your kids
Electives are something you're interested in or passionate about. Why must an elective be music/PE/art/humanities? For a kid that lives and breathes science and math, AP Chem is an exciting elective. You're right, AP Research isn't the most fun, but the idea of developing a chem based research question and throughly researching and presenting it, makes him giddy. Yes, giddy. He absolutely lights up when he talks about his electives for next year. He takes a creative writing class outside of school and even his fictional stories are based in the lab. Don't feel sorry for my kid. He's taking a class in a subject he loves.
