After hemorrhoids shrink, many people after left with skin. Those are skin tags, not hemorrhoids, and it will not go away. You can see a colorectal surgeon to have them removed, but it is very painful. You can have a flare of hemorrhoids on top of that. Avoid dry toilet paper as wiping a lot. Go talk to a colorectal surgeon
Op here. Yes I have the skin too. I’m talking about almost constant thrombosed hemorrhoids that stick out and are purple. They bleed sometimes. I wouldn’t call them cosmetic because I don’t care what they look like (if dh noticed he’s kind enough to never have mentioned it). I’m sick of waddling and the pain.
I have this as well. I stand to poop. As in I stand there and wait for the urge and then I sit for that one moment and then stand up again. Sitting would make mine pop out even worse. After a BM I take a shower and wash off with the sprayer and a rag. Cleaning up well is important so that I don’t get irritation that would make my roids flare up. On particularly bad days I have to take a sitz bath and soak my sore ass in warm water until the swelling subsides. Then I have to carefully dry off, use some prep H and lay down for the rest of the day so that I don’t cause a flare up. I had a thrombosed roid that I had surgically removed after it would not shrink after weeks of trying. The experience was horrible and included a 4 week recovery but it never came back. I have two or three other smaller ones that are chronic but I am able to manage. I would strongly prefer to not ever have that surgery again. Drs have not bee much of a help. One guy suggested using ice since “cold reduces swelling” but I promise that is not a solution for me. You are not alone. It’s a journey.
