Didn’t and would never vote for Trump but part of the issue with this country is that we traded stable, most union middle class jobs for cheap crap from China and other countries with horrible labor conditions so that we could satiate short-sighted materialist impulses.

No we did not. We trade manufacturing jobs for white collar jobs. The majority of which pay a higher wage vs manufacturing. Manufacturing is 9% of our GDP and 8% of our workforce. We run a huge service sector trade surplus. Trump through his policies has reduce both the percentage of GDP manufacturing is in the US and workers in manufacturing. Here is the kicker US manufacturers can not fill the jobs they have open!

Are you or your kids going to work in a factory? It is absolutely crazy to think the US workforce will leave high paying service sector jobs to work at a factory make cheap crap.

I really do not understand this longing to be in a factory. Oh wait you just want everyone else to be in a factory while you keep your nice white collar job?[/quote]
