So are the players in portal ones that are bench players at their school and hoping to be picked up to be starters? Do coaches know if a player goes to portal- assume they have to, but what happens if player goes to portal and doesn’t transfer somewhere- can coach at existing school drop them? Or are ones on portals the ones going to be dropped anyway?[/quote]
Yes coaches know which of their players are in the portal. Most are ones going to be dropped anyway. Remember there are 8-10 players on every team that never see the playing field. Portal gives then a second chance. About 1/3 or players in the portal will not get picked up and their career is probably over.[/quote]
