This administration continues to give the middle finger to all foreigners. And we wonder why foreign tourism is down… Make a few extra bucks on some tourist while turning off many more.
Why do we have to subsidize "tourist attractions"? I'm all for parks, parks are great, just the National Parks seem to be continuously overwhelmed. Here on the East Coast, you have to register like six months in advance for most parks.
We don’t “have to”. We should, however, recognize that tourists support quite a few businesses starting with hotels and restaurants, and that National Parks are unique tourist attractions on a relatively short list of reasons to travel to the US as a tourist.
Yosemite in the summer is no joke. Same with Yellowstone. Maybe there should be two lines at the entrances then, like at the airport. One for citizens and permanent residents, the other for everyone else. It might also help the NPS keep track of demographics, for marketing and accommodations. Just don't contract with Palantir.
