What does the fact that it’s 2 hours or that the friends are moving having anything to do whether or not to bring a hostess gift to the person hosting the event? Of course you bring something small, a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates or something else equally versatile. I would get not bringing if the couple leaving were hosting, but in this case, someone else is hosting.
There were 2 separate questions. Bring a gift for the host? Bring a gift for the couple leaving the area. To me the fact that it is 2 hours means that it is being squeezed in because the couple didn't have time or because no one thought to have a party till last minute or that the host only had a narrow window. Maybe more facts would help (is it in the hosts home, at a bar or restaurant, etc.). But, just based on the short timeframe of the party, this may be an odd situation in which no gifts are necessary or appreciated as no one wants to deal with them.
