In MD. I thought that Richard Montgomery was the only team who truly dominated. The next level down were totally competitive with each other and then there were a few that were not competitive at all. There is definetely a socio-economic factor at play - the more well off schools had club players and the poorer schools were just kids who showed up to try a sport.
Is RM a one-player show now? I saw on their instagram that this player had 32 kills with .315 hitting in a 4-set game. That means hitting more than 100 times in 4 sets.
RM Varsity is full of top players from top clubs. The incoming freshmen class had so many club players that even JV coach turned some of them away. The Varsity is definitely not a one-player show, even though I think I know who you are talking about. She might be the most effective scorer, but the other players are not too far behind: they have good setters and good defense as well. My DD is unlikely to make Varsity with all the talent on that team. It's a bummer and I don't know if she will have a HS sport next year because all her eggs are in the volleyball basket.
I think adults talking this specific about a high school girl is creepy. Cut it out
I don't see what you see. The discussion was about RM being a real team or a one-player team. There was nothing inappropriate said about any player. Creepy is in your mind.
Yes, the creepiness is entirely in their minds. This is the sort of person that asks "why do you care so much about xyz, that's creepy" when they are losing an argument.
