I am from a EU country. I do not know your procedure here in America fully. But, when there is a “bad result” on a vote, the simple solution we have is to simply keep voting until the parties vote correctly. I do not see the reason for America not doing this as we do.
you mean like Brexit?
Brexit should never have been allowed to happen.
Or Greece's financial breakdown. Did they ever form a government or did they all just conveniently fail to form a coalition, "No good options. Oops, not my fault, I don't have to deal with it." Then it went back to the electorate who didn't like any of the options again, over and over. These sorts of machinations happen in America, but they seldom get brought out into public. Party leadership tend to only bring legislation that is ready and they know they have the votes for. There is a position called the "Whip" either majority or minority, their responsibility is to figure out before the vote who has the support. What's interesting is how legislators "caucus".
