Interesting perspective. If someone does service hours through a youth group, would you also say that's double-dipping? What if someone volunteers through Brothers & Sisters of America? What if you volunteer through the county? Are all those double-dipping? If that's the case, I guess I'd struggle to figure out what would count at all for these civics hours. Tutoring other kids in civics and that's it?

My kid got their Civics hours helping a couple elementary schools set up for and run their Fall festivals this year, and helping another school with a book donation event by evaluating book condition and sorting them / boxing them up and loading them into the truck.  None of those hours can be double-counted toward their NJHS hours.[/quote]
