As an Agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, public universities have a public obligation to ensure that all expenditures are necessary and reasonable and that they support the mission of the university. If it was fabulous cuisine, you would complain about the cost. UVA uses Aramark. So do many institutions in the state. W&M switched to Aramark in 2023 to improve their poor food reputation from before. GMU used Sodexo when my DD was there (and she complained) but switched to Chartwells Higher Education as its new dining partner. It is what it is. If you want swank food, go private. [/quote]
