The retakes are allowed so the student should complain if they think they need a retake. The reality is still that the kids earning A's are the ones doing retakes when they get a B on a test, my kid has retaken 2 tests, one in 7th and 1 in 8th. Both times he had a B and retook the exam so that the A- grade overall returned to an A. I am not a fan but if it is there, he may as well take advantage of it. We discussed what happened on the initial test and what he could do differently to prepare. He only had the 1 retake in 7th, we are hoping for the same in 8th. But if a kid is taking a test and worried that they are going to need a re-take before taking the test then the kid needs to be studying more.[/quote]
