Had a truck sideswipe me today. Called 911, they said since there are no injuries no cops would come. I asked them to come anyway. The other person was clearly at fault. No ticket. The police officer said trade insurance information and have a good day. Is this the new normal in Fairfax??
I was t-boned in Fairfax County in 2012. The other driver (very young male to be specific) drove right through a stop sign and hit me as I was turning at a 3 way stop. The police were right behind me (because it happened right near the jail in Fairfax). Police stopped, but told me that my car did not suffer enough damage to give a ticket! Mind you, the car had to be towed because it was that damaged. My insurance company was livid and asked me to get the officer's badge number. Fortunately I had an accident report with his number on it. I don't know exactly how it all turned out, but my insurance company took it from there. The other driver said the cop could not contact his mother because she "is deaf" and he was going to volunteer at his church.
