My child (who practices Judaism) had an major assignment due at midnight after fasting and attending services on the holiest day of the religion when no work is allowed. Despite having communicated this with the professor, she was told no exceptions could be made for late submission. In the other course with an assignment due on Yom Kippur, she was told that she could submit her work before midnight the next day.[/quote]
