I’ve had it my whole life, but always much worse in the lead up to my period and first couple days of my period, and is widely viewed as having a hormonal component. For my whole life, I just thought I was always on the verge of getting a uti. But not so. Google often suggested interstitial cystitis but I always wrote it off because I never had urgency of any sort, and urgency is often listed as the primary symptom of IC. But once I got past that and looked at all the other symptoms, it was shocking how much it matched. Down to things like it being triggered by tight pants on my crotch.
