DD is a sophomore. FT/texted every day. It was exhausting but most of the time I think she was lonely and just needed to touch base. This year she’s feeling more confident and comfortable and we have less contact—maybe a text every day but FT once or twice a week. She always initiates the FT and we give her space.
My dd always initiates as well, and I do find it exhausting. It's usually after my work day, I look forward to going to the gym, relaxing...Then she drops her problems onto me, her bad days. None of it is very big: stuff like such and such customer was rude today, I gave a wrong answer in class, my bike tire is deflated...So it's her anxiety dump time and she can go on and on. She did that in high school too but after her dumping we had some nice time together cooking, shopping, chatting, watching tv. This is the dumping without the nice time, so I find it difficult to deal with.
