Laytonsville resident here. Yeah, its rural but you can probably get a home that's an acre plus for about $1 million or so, at least starting off. As a resident, I have no idea what they're trying to do with the town. Seems like they want to keep the rural aspects going, but also recognize with more development comes more expectations (city sewer for example). I do know there's about 100 acres or so that's been set aside for development but not sure when that's being kicked off.

Honestly I love it, it's quiet. The only thing lacking is amenities as you have to drive 10-15 minutes to get to a supermarket or a Dunkin, etc. [/quote]

+1. The only difference I see between Laytonsville and Poolesville is that you can get to multiple places in 10-15 min from Laytonsville - Olney, Goshen, Germantown, and Gaithersburg. From Poolesville, you only have one way down Rt 28. [/quote]
