“They won’t have any meets they are allowed to attend” 2025-2026 schedule: 30+ meets
Notice the 8 and unders are the only age group competing in PVS invitationals…
In Virginia, anyway.
Very very very few 8 and unders go to MAAGS, NCI, or NCSA anyway. Last season, there were only three 8Us at MAAGS, three 8 year olds at NCI, and I’m pretty sure none at NCSA. There were only six 8 year olds at Riley Eaton. Even Winter Classic only had five 8 year old girls.
MAAGS isn’t a PVS meet, NCAP is the only PVS team that participates in it and they didn’t bring any 9 year olds since the events are done by single age and there are no 8 year old events. There were no 8 and unders at NCSA because they eliminated the 10 and under events, any 10 and under swimmer would need to have the 11 year old single age cuts.
*NCAP didn’t bring any 8 year olds
Yes, it was NOVA who brought two 8 year olds (MAAGS has 9U events, so ostensibly, your best four 9Us go, and that could be an 8 year old.) But the point still stands: Very few 8Us go to these time-cut/best-of meets, and even Turkey Claus doesn’t have 8U events. So the “I noticed 8 year olds” comment is uninformed.
