I think DCUM can be much more culturally toxic than Reddit due to the level of anonymity. On Reddit you have an identifiable username and if you behave badly, people can block you or report you and it will actually impact your ability to participate in the community. On DCUM people are mostly completely anonymous and even if someone gets banned for trolling or violating site rules, it seems like they always come back. I think Jeff is limited in what he can do because he's banning IP addresses an not accounts.

I still find DCUM useful but it's much more the Wild West of message boards than Reddit, which is much more rules-based with greater consequences for misbehavior.[/quote]
