Our DC’s school sends chromebooks home with the third graders and it got out of hand quickly for many. Did they really expect kids to follow proper use instructions at 8-9 year old? And then wonder why they have ADHD?
Out of hand how? Please share because I’d like to know what to watch out for. Also do you mind sharing what school?
The chromebooks had no administrative or parental controls features so the kids could go on any websites and do anything. Unless parents were supervising every minute, there was no other way to restrict certain sites or time spent on the chromebooks. Whatever happened to focusing on foundational teachings, with class work and homework using good old fashioned textbooks and paper, without the distraction of screens. Kids at this age don’t need to be learning from projectors or screens. Not a fan.
