Other school districts announce, but crickets from DCPS... Likely because most are not from DCPS schools.
That's always the case though. Smart kids from throughout the region come to the region's best private schools, which are in the District, and take most of the DC NMSF slots.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Walls typically has a handful, and BASIS and JR and Latin and DCI have a few. With the high school ecosystem changing so rapidly I'm curious to see if there are any changes. Like, was the MIT acceptee from McKinley a NMSF and bring them into the list this year? Will Banneker have any? Etc.
This was last year. Public: Walls (6) BASIS (3) Latin (2) DCI (2) J-R (1) Private: Sidwell (11) GDS (7) STA (6) NCS (3) WIS (2) SJC (2) Maret (1) Field (1) Gonzaga (1) Some public, some private, just as I said. The point I was making was that DC is a very competitive state as students come in from VA and MD who normally would be in competition there and make DC harder to get NMSF in.
48 total seems like more than 1% of PSAT takers to me.
It’s almost exactly 1%. 4,872 students from the high school class of 2024, attending DC high schools, took the PSAT in 11th grade. https://reports.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/2024-district-of-columbia-sat-suite-of-assessments-annual-report-ADA.pdf
