It’s so hard. I’m doing the daily grind and get the kids when they’re exhausted or have homework or need to be woken up for school. And then he shows up for weekends or weeks off and gets what feels like the best sides of them. I know in the long run I’m getting the everyday moments that are real life and the actual best part, but when I’m begging someone to get out of bed or get their shoes on so they can get to school and I’m not late to work and the hardest thing he does on his time is ask if they want steak or pizza…ugh.
