You are not dying. Why in the world would you need to go to the ER? ER is for life or death. They stabilize you. You are alive and not remotely close to not being alive. Do you have health anxiety? Maybe you are shitting your brains out because you of your health anxiety. Either way, it sounds like it came on today and you need to give it time to past through.
Been since Sunday. ER for fluids and to see if I have infection that has treatment. But doubt I will go.
Since Sunday is not even a full week! And somehow you even managed to get in with a GI in the meantime. You aren't vomiting, you shouldn't need fluids. You probably do, or did, legitimately have some virus and subsequent irritation that is still working itself out. Anxiety may well be exacerbating that, as the gut-brain connection is very real. But it's definitely not an emergency, and you should follow your specialist's advice to take Pepto/Imodium especially since it's affecting your function so dramatically (not being able to go about your business out of the house). Give it time to go away. Even if it ultimately doesn't, you can follow up as a normal outpatient if needed down the line.
