I am just THRILLED to death that 97.1 has broadened its Christmas repertoire this year. I have not heard "Christmas Eve in Washington" or the "Christmas Shoes" song ONCE yet (although I'm sure they've been played). Last year I had to stop listening to 97.1 altogether because EVERY TIME I turned it on, one of those two songs was on, and I got tired of vomiting all over my dashboard. Those are the worst. Christmas. songs. ever.
My husband loves "Christmas Eve in Washington." It is horrible. I havent heard "Christmas Shoes" once. I listen to Christmas music nonstop (when 97.1 flips). I love Paul McCartney's "Simply having a wonderful Christmastime." Last Christmas is a terrible song. Couldnt imagine back in the 80s it would go on to become a staple. However, I do enjoy Glee's version of the song. Taylor Swift's is terrible. I figure some songs are bad but I suffere through them. Havent heard any of Gloria Estefan's song yet. Some of her terrible classics: "Christmas through your eyes," "This Christmas." That Mariah Carey song...I like it but does it have to be played SO much. On the other hand...I never get tired of hearing Whitney Houston's "Do You hear what I hear?" or any Christmas song Vanessa Williams sings.
