DD is in a top team and I don’t like the trend. Teenagers these days are consumed by IG. Besides Media day, does you DD also cut brand new socks so she can use grip socks? These bad influencer female pro players on social media who always pull their socks all the way to the thighs with cut socks. Cutting socks is just not right. They get destroyed while they still have price tag on them.
Wow. That's quite a take. As far as cutting the socks, my DD has done it. Yes, it's a pain, we'll take a lighter burn the cuts so they don't fray as bad. If you are frugal, you can wear the bottoms that have been cut off as no shows - really. I was laughing at my Brother-in-law who did that. As an alternative, you can order just the sock sleeves in all the colors. This was an option for my DD. Much nicer than cutting them. Trends come and go - think back to college football in the early 80s with players wearing the mesh jerseys that were like 1/2 shirts. I'm sure guys from the 50's were furious! As far as media day, IMO, much ado about nothing. My DD didn't have a soccer Instagram account until she started the recruiting process and never really posted anything on it until her sophomore year. Bigger thing that our club uses it for is to get updated headshots of the players for their player cards and updating thing on their end. Before that was done, their photos were from when they were like U12.
