Does anyone track their total amount made over the course of a school year? Obviously there's a huge variance, but if you try to do those high-pay days and sub, say 3-4 days a week. Can you take home around $25,000 or is that way out of line?
In 2024 I made just under $24k as a retired teacher substitute.
Are retired teachers paid a higher rate?
Yes. Sorry, that’s why I mentioned I’m a retired teacher. I could have added it’s about $5 more an hour.
Quoting myself to add more context. I would guess that the pay was for about 135 days worked and not all were full 7 hour days.
Looking at the math, wouldn’t almost all of those 135 days have to be full days to make $25,000?
Some were not full days. I'm not sure exactly how many. It is a guesstimate and I said I made just under $24k in the calendar year 2024. That's including $1,415 in "Misc Pay" (high volume day pay), "Temp Pay" (I'm not sure what that was), and a $500 bonus. I know during the 24-25 SY I had 130+ jobs.
