Does State snail mail reports to districts? 
do they also send electronic copy of results to districts?

They give them access to the electronic reports earlier than they mail them. If you want your report, you can get them by emailing the testing and reporting unit. They can get you an electronic copy. The supervisor used to be Donna Blaney, but it looks like she is on detail elsewhere.[/quote]

That’s ridiculous. They have the test results on September 12. It shouldn’t be a matter of interested parents emailing the central office testing units and getting their kids’ scores and the rest of the masses getting them mailed to them 6 months later when the data are totally stale.[/quote]

Exactly why are parents always being required to do the work for mcps? These people were hired. The amount of work some of the ptas do, geez. Followups too now by parents? geez. No wonder some schools started sending it home with Larla. Are the reports in envelopes when they send it home?  Is Larla going to compare her report with Karla on the bus ride home?[/quote]

If only a technological system in which McPS could electronically share grades and test scores with parents directly existed…of all the things MCPS hasnt fixed, this is among the easiest of them to change.

If Parent Vue requires "upgrading" to upload a bunch of test scores that the State of Maryland sends it, it is in truly bad shape.  If it weren't for privacy considerations, any MCPS kid who knows how to scan documents could do this in a few days for SSL hours. [/quote]

Yep, some parents asked if parents could come help stuff envelopes at CO back when reports were sent directly from the office. Maybe each 3rd-10th grade student can scan their own report at their school's front office? That would require a good scanner. Do each schools have one? Had heard teachers don't have copy paper, how is the scanner situation?[/quote]

MCPS has a billion dollar budget and the central office has plenty of staff, including the testing and reporting unit .  This is a  stupid problem to have.  [/quote]
