We're doing a kitchen reno now. Multiple people I talked to said they don't think Wolf is worth the upcharge for a wall oven -- for a gas range, sure, but not a wall oven. We decided to go with Thermidor -- they have two levels, but the Professional level (more expensive) is only slightly more. Bosch and Thermidor are both owned by the same company, and many people say that the Bosch is almost as good, if you need something a little less expensive than Thermidor. I looked into possibly making one of the ovens a steam oven -- that seems cool, but it requires more work to plumb it for water/steam, so I decided I didn't actually care that much. If you're pulling out walls and such already, it might be a fun option. I personally don't like a range -- it's too low to pick things out of. I prefer a wall oven, and we are getting the induction stove, as I'm really looking forward to that thing where water boils almost immediately. We eat a lot of pasta on weeknights!
Wolf and Thermidor Pro are very similarly priced.
When I got quotes the thermador pro was definitely cheaper — maybe 10-20% less, so not a huge difference but definitely less. Anyway I’m not totally loving my thermador because they seem loud to me, especially after the oven is turned off. We have an open plan kitchen so it’s a little irritating to be sitting there at dinner trying to eat and talk with the loud hum from the oven. I don’t know if that’s common with other high end ovens but my old ge profile didn’t do that. I’m also a little irritated because the numbers on the display aren’t as big/dark as I like so you need to be right in front of the oven to see them — you can’t glance across the room and see how much is left on the timer and how close it is to preheated. Maybe I should download the app or something but I liked the big numbers on my old GE.
