Some clubs collect everything upfront including tournaments and coach's travel expenses. In these cases they likely over budget to cover unseen price changes or event changes. Others they collect a club fee that is the same for all and then team fees that cover tournaments/coach's expenses as not all teams do the same tournaments or number of events. Some only do local, others more travel requiring the coach to have travel expenses covered by the team. In this case what is not used up gets returned to the family.
