Then even if you meet the requirements, you have to relocate to Oklahoma City for training, then you have to relocate again for your on the job training for 2-3 years, and then you’re a full fledged ATC. But you still have to maintain the ongoing health requirements. I do agree that maybe our high schools and community colleges, and even 4 year colleges, should do a better job of promoting careers in air traffic control though. [/quote]

The FAA has had huge operations in Oklahoma for 50 years.  There is and has been a thriving air-oriented community there.  Just because it is in the middle ina non-DCUM approved area doesn't immediately render it unfit for human use.[/quote]
