The reason the face looks bloated is that her after photo is zoomed in more than the before, and thus her face in the after looks bigger. Her lips look nice and natural to me.
I’ve also had lip filler along with some very subtle fillers to my cheeks after a 20+ lb weight loss. Most of my friends and family have commented that I looked refreshed but couldn’t figure out what it was exactly.

OP, where did your friend get her lip fillers done ? There are plenty of medical spas right now that hire nurses who took a weekend class in injectables to perform these procedures. They give fillers a bad rep when the problem is  the provider injecting the filler. 
 
Please go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for your injectables.
