It's so dumb to focus on this because Trump used the autopen for the J6ers. He even told Fox News that he did not review each J6 case for pardon because "It would be very, very cumbersome to go and look - you know how many people we're talking about? 1,500 people." https://www.foxnews.com/video/6367536545112 He live signed 26 EOs that day and the pardons were autopen signatures. Look, both Biden and Trump are old af and neither should be president, but I'd put my money on Biden in a cognitive test. I say this as someone who has a parent with dementia who sees some early signs in Trump. Especially his increased word salads. Yes, he's always spoken in circles but now he's making zero sense at almost every presser he gives.
Well, I honestly wouldn't put my money on either of them competing in a cognitive test. I think a large majority of Americans have learned their lesson regarding how the POTUS job is too important and demanding to trust elderly people with a four year term. That's not an insult to old people. I'm old too. It just is what it is. A US President pardoning hundreds of people who took part in the forceful breach of security at our US Capitol after they were caught in the act red-handed with clear video and picture evidence is the second most disgraceful act a POTUS has committed just behind the same POTUS refusing to answer the phone for three hours while the security breach was happening and our most prominent lawmakers were being chased to the basement of our Capitol Building (sorry Trump, a couple of tweets doesn't excuse your dereliction of duty in that moment). A president smoking pot, snorting coke, or committing adulterous sex acts in The White House are less disgraceful deeds and less harmful to the country than a Commander-in-Chief refusing to do their primary job in such a moment. I truly believe 95% of the MAGA crowd will eventually come to agree with this after the dust has settled from the Trump era in politics.
