Powell's term ends on January 31st, 2028. If Trump succeeds in removing him before the end of his term, bond markets will collapse. The US dollar has already lost more than 10 percent of its value over the past few months. And the dollar will go into free fall from here if MAGA gets its fat little hands on the Fed. Interest rates will absolutely skyrocket. It'll be a disaster for the real economy. As for stocks, that's been hyper-inflated for a long time. Everyone is doing the TACO trade now. At some point there will be reckoning and stocks will return to historical P/E norms, which is much, much lower than where it's hovering now. But right now, it's all TACO all the time. I don't know why Republicans would want to disrupt that. The markets are being levitated by Trump's back and forth, knowing there's a responsible Fed in the background. Put a clown as head of the Fed, and money will flee this country so fast it'll make your head spin. Click of a keyboard. [/quote]
