13:05 again. Do NOT wear tall boots to a meeting where you don't know the other people. It's fine if you're in your own office, but I work in a business casual environment and would never wear tall boots to a meeting with clients, peers from other companies, or senior people. I think people need to make a distinction between business casual in their office (which errs on the more casual side of things) and business casual in a business meeting setting (which errs on the more business side of things). You will definitely not be the only person there wearing a suit, trust me.
OP here. Thanks everyone for your advice. I went with the suit in the end and while I was probably a little overdressed, I felt more confident for having on a suit. For the PP who mentioned age above, I'm actually 40 and have been working in this field for a long time so I wasn't worried about that whole "young person overcompensating by overdressing and looking foolish" but in the past I certainly would've taken that into consideration, you're right. I did end up taking my suit jacket off in the morning just b/c I was so hot. Compared to the pharma staff, I was dressed exactly as they were. But compared to the docs I was definitely more professionally dressed. They (all men) were pretty much all in khakis and button down shirts. But I'm really glad I wore my suit. Thanks again everyone!
