I never feel 💯% clean if I do not shampoo my hair every time I shower or bathe…and since I feel gross unless I bathe daily I tend to shampoo daily. I also have very thick, course hair and use a lot of product in it so daily shampooing is necessary. My hair is also dry so I make sure to use a good moisturizing conditioner as well as a leave-in conditioner as well. Oh and a weekly deep conditioner too!
Your need to have clean hair is psychological, not physical. Your hair would do better if you washed it less often, since you say it tends to be dry. You are replacing your natural oils with multiple conditioning products that you wouldn't have to use if you wash your hair less frequently. That being said, the transition is often rough, because your sebum-producing glands need time to adjust. And I entirely sympathize with the need to "feel" clean! But for your hair's health, you should wash it less often.
