[/quote] Not to discount your opinion, but I am the same height, and my clothing sizes vary a great deal between 117 and 107. At 117 I can't fit comfortably into children's XL but at 107 I can, and as PPs have noted, it can be less expensive, especially for basics like base layer "long john" type clothing where the kids styling isn't a factor. I've had good luck with athletic wear in children's XL although sometimes the tops are a bit tight across the chest. I am questioning the OP's comment about petites being too short. I've only had that problem maybe once or twice in 40 years of shopping petite clothing. I will +1 to thrift stores. I have found some of my favorite, high quality pieces at thrift stores when I can fit in the smaller sizes. [/quote]
